Mr Christopher King is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon based in Buckinghamshire, specialising in advanced cataract surgery, keratoconus care and YAG laser eye treatments. He leads key clinical services in the region, combining evidence-based expertise with personalised patient care.

Mr King is the Cataract Lead and YAG Laser Capsulotomy Lead at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. He also leads the regional corneal cross-linking service for patients with keratoconus, helping preserve vision through early diagnosis and treatment.

Professional Qualifications & Training
Mr King studied at Trinity College, University of Cambridge and qualified from the Cambridge School of Clinical Medicine in 2013. During his studies he was awarded a prestigious William Harvey Studentship and achieved a Distinction in the Final MB examination as one of the top graduates in his year.
Following medical qualification, he completed both Foundation Training and Ophthalmology Specialty Training in the Oxford Deanery before undertaking advanced surgical training in cataract and anterior segment surgery in Buckinghamshire. In 2021, he gained a commendation in the Postgraduate Diploma in Cataract and Refractive Surgery from Ulster University.
Research, Education & Leadership
Mr King has published and presented clinical research and audit work nationally and internationally. In his NHS role he serves as College Tutor and Educational Lead for Ophthalmology in Buckinghamshire and is Cataract Simulation Lead for the Oxford Deanery. He is also an Examiner for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, contributing to professional standards and training across the UK.
